MORE MADNESS!

THE MIDEAST ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
This is a toughy. All the buzz is around the Hornets of Delaware State, after they finished 16-2 in conference, 4 games better than the Florida A&M Rattlers. But after that there were 5, yes five, teams logjammed at 10-8. ButI think we all know, that when it comes to the MEAC, you can throw records aside. Now it's hard to pick against a #1 seed, who, lost a mere two games in conference, especially when they have Roy Bright and Darrin Shine on their roster. But we like to with the good old standbys, Coppin State and Hampton to make some noise in this tourney. We don't think the #1 or the #2 seed will make the conference final. You read that right folks! There'll be some good games in this one, but when the smoke clears it'll be Brian Mason and the South Carolina State Bulldogs defeating Rashad West and the Pirates of Hampton. A bold pick yes, but you gotta be bold, when picking the MEAC!

WESTERN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
The WAC is as wacky as ever. Obviously Nick Fazekas and the #10 Nevada Wolf Pack are the favorites and with good reason. Now watch out for the Aggies of Utah State, they're our wild card pick. And it's not just because they have names that belong in a boy band, in Jaycee Carroll and Chaz Spicer. They've got moxie as well! Hey that wouldn't be a bad name for their boy band, Moxie! Okay it's not a great name, but it's not bad, was all I was saying. The semifinal should pit them against Nevada, which would also put Utah State's Chris Session against Nevada's Ramon Sessions. They don't call it March Madness for nothing. This'll be a tough test for the Wolf Pack (if I went to Nevada, I'd start a freshman rooting section called the Teen Wolf Pack!) as they lost to the Aggies just last week. I feel Nevada will pull it out though, but will fall to New Mexico State in the finale. Why? Nevada's already a lock for the Big Dance, and I don't know how much this will mean for them. Plus it's being played in the home of Carlton Blanchard's brother, Las Cruces, New Mexico. Which ia also home to Fred Peete (who we like to think is Rodney Peete's son) and the New Mexico State Aggies. So one Aggie or another will knock off the Wolf Pack, mark our words!

MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE
Really this comes down to the top four. The Cougars of Brigham Young, The Runnin' Rebels of Nevada-Las Vegas, the Falcons of Air Force and the Aztecs of San Diego State. Now BYU is the favorite, but we don't see them winning it, even if they do have Danny Ainge's son, Austin. And no, we're not just bitter that Papa Ainge is busy destroying the Celtics good name, we just don't think they've got it. We think it's the Rebels who'll run the table. The tourney is played on their home floor, where they were undefeated in confernce play. Plus they've got a guy named Wink on their squad! How do ya pick against that?! Of course also keep an eye on Brandon Heath and the Aztecs, as they can do some things. I just feel SDSU can be too wild and erratic. As for Air Force they're, well, struggling, losers of three straight. So it's UNLV in the Mountains!
